Cypress Files: Reflections on Iran with a philosophical tinge
Cypress (in Farsi sarv, سَرو) is a symbol of life, resistance, and freedom.
Cypress files is essay reflections on Iranian society, culture, and politics. It was started a year after 2022’s Jina uprising with a view to diversify and deepen the conversation on modern Iran.
I write these essays both from a perspective of an Iranian woman in diaspora with personal and emotional attachments to the country and its fate, as well as a philosopher attempting to decipher the Iranian subjectivity and its social and cultural intricacies. They are reflections on different aspects of Iranian life today that capture my attention. They may be mere descriptions, historical reflections, philosophical musings, or a cross-cultural consideration.
You can expect weekly to bi-weekly essays in your inbox when you subscribe. Cypress Files is free publication. So please do share it if you find useful, worthwhile content on here.
